The organization has over 24,000 members and is governed by 52 Board of Governors. The private organization is supported by member dues and revenues from the sale of products and services offered, many of which are available for purchase via their website, www.wisbar.org.
The State Bar of Wisconsin leverages a full Microsoft stack for its web properties; SharePoint for web content management and Commerce Server for eCommerce. The organization uses wisbar.org to achieve many business objectives, including State Bar advocacy, member recruiting & content delivery, public news & content and the sale of various physical & digital products.
The various web properties required a single secure method of authentication that provides the appropriate level of content to the web visitor, across all web properties.
The State Bar of Wisconsin engaged with MethodFactory after experiencing execution challenges with the Microsoft Gold Partner that was originally retained for the project. The organization was looking for a development partner for their project; a partner they could co-develop with before taking over day-to-day support of the project. They had a fixed launch date for the project, so time was of the essence.
The State Bar of Wisconsin engaged with MethodFactory because of its deep expertise in Commerce Server and SharePoint. MethodFactory first performed a system audit to assess and critical issues that were impeding the launch. After the core system was stabilized, MethodFactory structured non-critical defects and functional enhancement requests into development waves that reconciled with the fixed launch date requirement. Both development teams worked together throughout the project to maximize the amount of phase 1 functionality that could fit into the launch date. The results of the phase 1 eCommerce efforts can be found at marketplace.wisbar.org
